I think this would be more fun if the ship customization was more sinilar to conquer the skies. You add a workshop to increase repair speed, different types of propulsion to better control your ship, better floating power, ammo/weapons. It all ties together quite well and would have the game stand apart a bit more from others in the genre

I feel like one thing that can be done is keep the scrap to heal mechanic, but take out the scrap into money, and add a base building element before the main shop where the scrap is your currency, and you can buy things like passive income, more slots for weapons, escorts, and doctrines, free re-rolls, more shops slots, banishes, your weapon upgrades/weapon mods, and other things like that, while having the main shop be all passives, with them being EXP upgrades, and base weapons/escorts using cash

Ayyy, we picked the same starting options.

There's a comment about removing things from the item pool. Having weapons cap out fairly "early" seems like this game is taking that direction. You invest in other things to increase your damage passively while still being able to see whats going on. Really like the idea where a lot of power is gained from simply being able to maneuver. Which fits the theme very well. Overall I think the direction is amazing, better than Brotato and the upgrade system has a crazy amount of potential as well as not being super boring like most VS style games where the upgrades are essentially just weapons.

Wander needs to come back to this game. Especially once it launches. Right the demo has a couple of his suggestions already. Like the upgrading tetris blocks. And picking your towers & cards, but during the battle selection. Game is shaping up really good now. BTW Wander, just wanted to say your my favorite youtuber rn. Thanks for checking out so many different games - and being pretty good all round with good insight on the game.

I think there's nothing wrong with the old classics, and Wander has the right idea with mixing the old and the new. Coming back to older titles once you tried some newer once really showcase how much the original stuck with you, which I think is pretty beautiful in its own rights. I also think Wanderbots _definitively_ undersells himself by not fully embracing the kingmaker title. There may not be a single absolute kingmaker _per say_ in the UA-cam sphere, especially with the amount of "game critics" popping off left and right (and sometimes disappearing just as fast); but I'm pretty sure that for Wander's audience, there is a significant share of games he plays that I wouldn't even have thought of checking out myself. And on that significant share, a non-negligible percentage would be willing to buy the game or play it for themselves. This is something I only need to extrapolate my own experience, since that's what happened to me on occasion after watching some gameplay footage from him. In the interest of keeping a long comment somewhat short, I'll end with only this footnote: I'd absolutely listen to a Wanderbots podcast.

This isn't relaxing at all. It's stressful, and perhaps it's meant to be, but I'd prefer a more relaxed mode, or atleast an easier start! Every UA-camr one seen play this game dies very early on.

This game is way too freaking hard. The dev or dev's made this game too hard on the first level. Why would I spend my money on a game that doesn't even allow the player time to get a base up and running before the enemies come out and they are so fast to.

Wow! This game has come so far since early access. I see the jiggly ps1 setting is still unpopular with everyone though, lol.

Watching him walk past multiple stumps when they have suffered for honey multiple times is stressing me out.

So, Tier 1 Housing can be 4-6 Tiles big. Tier 2 Condominiums can be up to 30 Tiles, quite hefty and expensive to build. Imagine my shock when i just unlocked Tier 3 Housing, the Palace, which can be up to 200 Tiles big!

Seeing you learn the mechanics with every new level, makes you really feel how it would be to play the game. Having no shortcuts is a really rough one, tho. I absolutely love the day and night cycle, combined with awesome music, it makes you really feel the stakes. They got that down really well! I also really like how it allows you to make it infinite if you just dont use the crystal to strip mine the whole map, assuming your industry planning works out. Having an option to switch between seeing ratios and seconds would be a godsend for people who failed maths in school.

I'm about to really nerd out here, but why do so many fantasy games keep having greatswords with the blade wrapped in a leather strap? That's one of the most ridiculous things I can imagine. You're basically turning a sword (a cutting weapon), into a really shitty club, and that's IF the leather straps don't eventually get cut or snap from the repeated bludgeoning. It's just shoddy workmanship and I hate it.

(46:06) The lines the Tomerry says "where are you,I'm so scared - Come back to my side Tommy~ Tommy~." Tells me that merry and tommy are still conscious inside that bloody monstrosity which I now realize is it a very disturbing thought to have.

This game goes waaaaay deeper than I ever thought it would. Insanely good.

I feel some strong "Chronicles of Amber" vibes from all of these lore and surrealistic surroundings...

I found a strengh tower in one round it had 4 tiles wich increased damage for the towers placed on the tiles. Its essentially a landmark powerup.

i'm 26 hours in and loving it. it is amazing. It's like an open world version of Lunacid, but on LSD.

art style is nice overall but ugh no face characters is a deal breaker for me. My one deal breaker when it comes to art styles in games.

this game makes me dream of the day we see a Bloodborne themed (or grim dawn themed xD) kind of open world top down RPG. like skyrim open world style meets the top-down RPG factor. project zomboid but not shltty.
